Renewable energy, also known as clean or sustainable energy, is powered by natural resources that our planet has an endless supply of. Solar energy, for example, harnesses power from sunlight, which will always be available as long as the sun shines. Though often seen as modern, humans have used natural resources for centuries — from drying clothes in the sun to using windmills.
